1 mile in and I pulled the plug. It is more difficult to know that you should stop and actually listen to your body. Going to take a couple days off and see if I can get to the bottom of this. Looking like it could be a little overuse injury that can be caused by a few different factors.

There are these shoes called Altras (a gift) that I am blaming at least part of it on. ;)

No need to push it with no races coming up. Good to have an off season.

Those altras can be trouble I am afraid. Right now is definitely the best time to be patient with injuries.

Who is the new Scott guy?

Hille - I will be taking it easy. Need to get a bike or elliptical at my house.

Fritz - Glen sold my wife those Olympus shoes and I am questioning them. Scott is a buddy of mine that ventured out with me and JP yesterday. How is your recovery coming along?

From Fritz on Fri, Nov 07, 2014 at 10:14:55 from 65.116.116.6

coming along, thanks. I might be able to run a bit in a few days.

I put a pad in the heals of my Olympus's so they aren't exactly "zero drop". I have a coupon for another pair that I need to pawn off to someone.

I also put a pad in the heal per Glen's recommendation. I felt like the left shoe lacked arch support after a while. I like the shoes for a couple hundred miles of easy days before they started giving me problems. Perhaps my pair is just defective. If you want to pawn the coupon off to me, I would give them another test. Glad you are healing up. Perhaps the running gods will let us run next week.

my first pair broke down completely at 200 miles and they gave me a new pair. I suspect the first batch didn't have great quality control. They are coming out with Olympus version 2 in December so hopefully the issues are resolved. I will jump back into the morning runs when I can.

Who did you ask for the new pair at 200 miles? I feel like that is when might started to go lame.

From Fritz on Fri, Nov 07, 2014 at 10:35:05 from 65.116.116.6

I sent customer service pictures of the problem. At first they offered me a 50% coupon then decided to give me a new pair.

Gotcha. Mine look alright on the outside. The inside just feels non-supportive.

From james (runmehappy) on Fri, Nov 07, 2014 at 16:08:18 from 50.203.76.218

They are sending me a new pair of the Paradigms instead of the Olympus. Said they are better suited for the road. We shall see.
