10.65 up along Foothill above the U and along part of the Salt Lake Marathon course with Fritz, JP, Jason, and Evan. Good group this morning and none of us managed to get hit by a car.

Interesting article about calf, achilles, and foot pain here. Though, I don't think it translates into what I have been experiencing. Since I started running almost 3 years ago I have run in 4mm drop shoes and recently purchased the ISO that is 8mm.

That's always an accomplishment with Fritz since he is impervious to traffic.

You've got a nice little Kinvara/Triumph rotation going there.

Josh, that is true. Fritz took on a few cars that morning.

Jake, I am like the rotation. I think I will snag another pair of each in the next couple of months.

every runner for him/herself when crossing roads. This article suggests, as we would expect, that it is a good idea to rotate shoes with different toe to heel offsets. I am slightly bummed that the Pegagus dropped from 12mm to 10mm.

Researchers gathered kinematic data using a six-camera motion analysis system and a force plate to examine ground reaction forces. From their findings, they concluded that "different running shoes affect running kinetics and kinematics at or before heel strike but not at mid-stance."

What this means is that different shoes affect things like the dynamics of your knee and ankle, as well as the flexion of your foot. While this may sound insignificant, when you consider that you take around 1,000 steps each mile, it begins to make sense why some variation in foot strike may provide some benefit in lessening injury risk.
