Met JP and Scott at HHS and ran up through the U over to the Avenues and back.

Light pain with every step, but nothing impeding. Odd.

What kind of pain are you dealing with?

From james (runmehappy) on Thu, Nov 06, 2014 at 11:23:43 from 50.203.76.218

Jake - I am having pain on the outer side of my lower left leg. It is more towards the back of the leg, but is not the calf and is not the shin. Perhaps the peroneus longus? I can't seem to stretch it, but I am able to push on it and cause pain. I thought it was some sort of lateral strain possibly from rolling an ankle a little, but have no recollection of rolling it. Today was by far the worst it has felt while running.

Perhaps it is a tendon though. I don't know. If I push on it and point my toe, I get the most pain, lifting the toe almost causes none. So I guess it is flexing when I point.

You probably have identified the correct source of the problem.

The Letsrun forums can sometimes be a great resources for weird injuries like this...

Another good site if you haven't seen this:

Thanks Jake - Those are great references and the second one seems spot on to what I have going on. Perhaps I will not run the 5k Saturday. No sense causing more damage. Thoughts?

Racing is always going to be more destructive than not racing. So I guess it depends on how important the race is.

this race is not important. i wanted to maybe de-thrown Collin seeing he has won the race the last 2 years, but I know I am not that fast!
