How many of you out there, if there is anyone that reads this, incorporate some sort of cross-training? I have not really done any in the last 2.5 years and am thinking some time on a bike or something might be beneficial. I don't want to do anything in place of running, but perhaps to compliment it. Thoughts?

james I think great cross training is swimming with some type of Pt exercises afterwords. Great workout for endurance and incorporating some PT will help balance everything out. Worked for me last year.

Hop Scotch is a good form of cross training. 12 oz. curls works too.

Ben - I need to look into the cost of our local rec center. I have not swim in a while, but really enjoy it.

Rob - perhaps I could buy this for my daughter/me for Christmas - http://www.target.com/p/alex-hopscotch-mat/-/A-10909126

I'm guilty of not cross training as well. I own a spin bike and I will occasionally ride that when it's icy outside or I just don't fit my run in. I like it. I think biking is great for building nice strong quads and glutes. "Because I'm all about that bass, bout that base...no treble."

Jen - Tyler is actually kind enough to lend me his spin bike starting this Saturday. I am looking forward to a little cycle and Hulu/Netflix.

ps - I only know the reference to that song because of morning radio.
