8 - Might take a few days to get my legs working properly again after Saturday's simulation. I loosened up after a couple of miles, but now my legs are pretty sore again. I am planning on this week being my last before I start to taper for St. George. I was not planning on being as sore this morning though.

My legs are pretty sore today as well. I got up to run and the pouring rain scared me back into bed. I am hopeful that I will be able to get out after work and try to loosen up the quads a bit. The Yasso's still on tomorrow?

Yeah, it is nice to have the treadmill when the rain is coming down. I am planning on Yassos next Tuesday. Had hills planned for tomorrow and then tempo on Thursday. What are you thinking for this week?

Didn't have a great idea to begin with and now my legs are making me want to take it a bit easier. I will plan on the hills tomorrow for sure and likely a tempo on Thursday. Saturday I was planning on a long run again and possibly mixing in some quicker miles at the end of the run.

Part of the benefit from that simulation run is 1) beating up the legs a little then 2) recovering and adapting from that.

Treat the next couple days as if you did a race on Saturday to get the full benefit from it.

Thanks Jake. So, would you suggest running easy until Thursday and still attempting the 10 mile tempo on Thursday? If you remember, my last scheduled intense track workout is next Tuesday (10x800).

That would definitely be a smart approach. Just run mileage for a few days, and be ready for a good workout on Thursday. Trying to squeeze in too much at this point is a dangerous game.
