This is the beginning of a new type of taper for me. This whole training plan coming up to this marathon has been really different than Ogden. The bar has thrown me off for sure and I just tried different things. I was a lot less structrured with my speed workout, but it was still there. I am excited to go back and analyze it all after the race.
So, I am trying a 3 week taper. It seems a little different because last week I really didn't log a ton of miles, but I am still going to go for the 3 week taper and see how it goes. Going in to Ogden I just didn't feel great. Even after the taper, the week of the race I still was a little sore. I think the two 90 mile weeks really took a toll without me knowing and I could have benefited from an extra week of taper, or even a few more days.
