21 - 7:07 - 626 ft.

Tempo - 7 - 6:29

Met John, Jen, and Devra at Liberty and ran miles 9-24 of the Salt Lake Marathon course. We warmed up 5.5, ran 7 miles at tempo, and finished with 2 laps of Liberty to hit 21.

I was looking forward to this run. I was planning on using it as a test of where my fitness is at right now. I had a goal of keeping the tempo at about a 6:35-40 average. It ended up being a little faster because of a couple miles with some down. I was pleased to hold that pace on the few climbs though. This gave me a good idea of what to do moving toward Ogden. Pushed the final half mile at Liberty back down to 6:30 for fun.

Thanks for running with me today. You were really strong! You killed it during the tempo! Thanks for motivating me to come get next to you. Sorry to throw that curveball at mile 6 when I said, "Let's do one more!"

Also, I just noticed you ran 69 miles this week. You should have run one more to make an even 70! But 69 is a pretty cool number too...

Wow, great run! Even after the longer week. Nice work.

Jen - thank you for letting me tag along. You are going to run really well at Salt Lake.

Fritz - thanks. I was really pleased with how I felt on this run. Chasing you for a few months is paying off!

Solid run, man. You are looking strong. Hopefully next time I will be able to keep up with you.
